K1 Knightsbridge
London, UK
The scheme transforms the Sloane Street end of its Knightsbridge Estate with large retail units, residential and office space, fronting on to the Harvey Nichols department store, One Hyde Park and the Mandarin hotel.
The use mix will be approximately 7,432m2 (80,000ft2) residential, 9,290m (100,000ft2) retail shell and 9,290m2 (100,000ft2) of commercial space. The project also involves new London Underground (LUL) Entrances and LUL tunnel cooling. The development is serviced via a central energy centre. The site is currently occupied by a mix of offices, retail and residential units which will be demolished for the new scheme, whilst retaining the listed building on the South East corner.
New basements will be constructed to house plant, parking and storage as required and a new route to the Kensington Underground Station is proposed. The new scheme will target high-end and luxury domestic and international brands keen to take space in a block book-ended by Harrods and Harvey Nichols, at the top of Sloane Street.
