CitizenM Hotel

London, UK

Situated on a premium site on the Strand in London, this 14 storey high development comprises a five star hotel with 170 rooms and serviced apartments located behind a retained Grade II listed façade.

One of the key architectural features is the pyramidal glazed atrium bringing daylight to the communal spaces at ground floor level and to the guest room corridors which are connected to the atrium. In this respect, computer modelling was applied to assist the architect in the spatial design development to maximise the use of daylight.

The rooms and facilities are fully conditioned throughout the year. The building services were designed using the BIM platform (Building Information Modelling) throughout all phases of the design including the tendering stages. Given the complex architectural geometry, the use of BIM was especially advantageous for the communication between the various design players.

Accommodation includes basement car parking, bar, restaurant, banqueting and spa facilities.
