LSE Centre Building named RIBA London finalist
The Centre Building at the London School of Economics (LSE) has been shortlisted for a RIBA London award.
The project was led by architect RSH+P, in collaboration with Mace, Max Fordham, AKT II, Dornan Engineering, Deloitte and others.
Building services and environmental design consultancy, chapmanbdsp, provided MEP and environmental consultancy .
The Centre Building, which is pre-dominantly naturally ventilated and achieved a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating, is the third LSE project undertaken by chapmanbdsp.
On each of these projects. the LSE has invested in a fully integrated design approach, which involves the whole project team taking environmental engineering to the heart of the design process from the outset, with the aim of ensuring the building performs as well as possible in terms of energy and comfort.
Earlier this year the Centre Building won the 'Public Sector Project - Post Construction Award' at the BREEAM awards.
